The big reveal for the Lampwork and Clay 2013 Blog Hop sponsored by Lisa Lodge is here. Thanks to Lisa for putting this together.
She mailed me beads from the ceramic artist, Marti Conrad, and I was to design some jewelry using them. The beads were made of clay and had a nice turquoise blue glaze on them. (Scroll down to see the original post of the beads.) After searching my stash I came up with this design.
I selected a ceramic pendant that I had, and thought it went well with Marti's clay beads. I attached the beads to the pendant with some brown leather, tying knots between each bead. I really like the wonky, bohemian feel it has.
Then I wanted to tie in the turquoise blue glaze color on the clay beads, so I added some turquoise howlite and turquoise chips to finish. It is about 18" and lays nicely on the neck. I finished with earrings to match. Hope you like it. Let me know in the comments.

I adore Marti's beads, and you certainly created a winning design here. Love the earrings, those are such a fun look!
Your pendant bead looks like it was part of the original beads. Great design.
OOOOH - Nifty, nifty, nifty! You really have a winner here! The beads work so well together and the color palette is awesome! Thanks again, Loretta for being in the hop.
Awesome! That piece just screams Peace...all those beads working together so nicely...thanks for your great work and posting...
Love the set, the turquoise really compliments the focal pendant.
Pretty & yes, love that Bohemian feel! It can go casual or dressy. The turquoise go so well with pendant.
Loretta, I love the beads you got and your focal matches Marti's beads. I love the tribal/bohemian feel to your necklace and the color in it. Very pretty necklace and design.
I love Marti's beads--she's a real favorite of mine! The ones you received are VERY cool! I think I must see if she has more similar to these! I like that you put turquoise with these. (Funny, I did something similar with some Gaea beads I received in my kit!) And I really like your choice of focal too! I'm wondering who made the focal pendant now? It works perfectly with the other pieces! Great job!
@sharyl. I'm not sure who made the pendant. I think I received it in one of the Bead Soup swaps, but I don't think my partner made it. I'll have to go back and check.
Digging the boho look to this. Lovely showcasing of the beads.
Your piece captures the boho look perfectly! Well done!
Wow, this post is nice, my younger sister is analyzing these kinds
of things, therefore I am going to tell her.
