Third Reveal of the
6th Bead Soup Blog Party

The time is here to taste the "Soup".  Lori Anderson has done it again.  Putting together 300 plus artists who exchanged beads and then created beautiful pieces of jewelry.  Get ready for a fun taste!

My Partner is Lisa Chapman of Beach Cat Beads and this is what she sent me.

and here is my first design

The Heart Focal is a Lampwork Bead made by an artist in New Smyrna, Florida, where Lisa lives.  There are so many beautiful colors in this bead, but I was drawn to the blue.  I added small sodalite beads to compliment and finished with the little dragonfly charm.  The chain is brass and is a long 33".  It will be nice for layering with other pieces.  Here is a picture showing the length.

My next piece gave me a little trouble.  I wanted to use the Toggle Clasp as my focal piece and I wasn't sure where I was going to place it, so I went into the bathroom to look in the mirror and immediately dropped the toggle part down the drain.  In trying to retrieve it with pliers I pushed it further down.  Now this is not an easy under the counter pipe that I could remove, it is a pedestal sink with all the plumbing inside that pedestal.  Fortunately my husband came to the rescue and saved the day.  Here is what I designed.  I should call it my "Wayward Toggle" necklace. :)

I wire wrapped the azurite, rutilated quartz, dyed red quartz and jasper on one side, and completed the necklace with the brass chain.  Once I got it together I felt it needed some balance, so I threaded the silk ribbon through the chain and finished with a bow at the top, and then added some dyed red quartz as dangles.  Here is a close up of the toggle clasp.

Lisa sent me so many beautiful things that I just kept creating.  Here are the earrings I made with the little turtle beads that she sent.  I love the Trinity Brass ear wires.

Last but not least I wanted to try something a little Bohemian.  I have a new fun book  called "Bohemian-Inspired Jewelry", and used that for my inspiration.  Using the white hemp cord, and some Greek leather I fashioned a bracelet with some Golden Tornado Beads, ceramic beads and jasper.  I think it's fun, and very Bohemian!

Thank you for visiting my blog and now you will want to continue on for more soup with the other artists.  Here is the list

Hey first BSBP partner! Good to see you. You made some wonderful pieces. Glad you got the toggle bar back so you could use it as your focal. Very unique. And isn't that book great? I love my copy and used it for some inspiration in my pieces also. I love that last little bracelet with your inspiration from it.

Glad you were able to retrieve the toggle because that is a fantastic clasp - love what you did with it, too!

And those turtle earrings are so cute!

Wow I can see why you wanted that toggle to be the focal. It would have been a shame to hide it. Kudos to your husband. Both necklaces are lovely but I really love the toggle necklace.
