The big reveal for the Lampwork and Clay 2013 Blog Hop sponsored by Lisa Lodge is here. Thanks to Lisa for putting this together.
She mailed me beads from the ceramic artist, Marti Conrad, and I was to design some jewelry using them. The beads were made of clay and had a nice turquoise blue glaze on them. (Scroll down to see the original post of the beads.) After searching my stash I came up with this design.
I selected a ceramic pendant that I had, and thought it went well with Marti's clay beads. I attached the beads to the pendant with some brown leather, tying knots between each bead. I really like the wonky, bohemian feel it has.
Then I wanted to tie in the turquoise blue glaze color on the clay beads, so I added some turquoise howlite and turquoise chips to finish. It is about 18" and lays nicely on the neck. I finished with earrings to match. Hope you like it. Let me know in the comments.
