At last, the big reveal for the Bead Peep Swap and Hop 2015. I recently introduced my swap partner, Maria Rosa Sharrow, of
Willow Street Shops , and here is what she sent me.
Rosa handmade and soldered the Peacock and Butterfly feather pendants. She also made the the fourth pendant by cutting and doming a vintage tin, and adding that to a hand painted wooden bezel.
This is what I sent Rosa, and you can see what she made with them at Willow Street Shop.
My mind went in many directions while creating. I received so many beautiful things I didn't know where to start. I loved the colors in the Peacock pendant so found some beautiful blue accent beads to add to the stash and this is what I created with them.
Next I selected the brown shade butterfly pendent. I wanted this to be very plain to showcase the beautiful butterfly pendant, so I chose some white wooden beads and a two pretty shell beads that I used to highlight the pendant. It's very long and feather-light to wear.
All the necklaces are different lengths. The next one is the shortest, about 20". I used the brown and white beads that Rosa sent, and added some amethyst chips to pick up the lavender/purple color in the pendant. I also added a Sterling Silver Love Charm.
I am still working on the last necklace with the Vintage Tin on Wood. The beads Rosa sent to use in this piece are so bright and pretty. I am doing some wire wrapping and using some chain in this design. I will post that one when I finish it.

ReplyDeleteLoretta what lovely designs you came up with. The peacock feather necklace is beautiful. Adding the amethyst chips to the last necklace was genius. I have to see if I have another wing like that one so I can solder it up because I have some amethyst I have been saving. Thanks so much for being my partner.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love Maria's focals? I got to be her partner a few years back and cherish what I made with one.
ReplyDeleteI love the ones that you made though my favorite has to be the first.
What gorgeous pieces you created, i love the focals and how you set them off in each piece of jewellery.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done. Your choices of necklace designs for each pendant were perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but I think the last one is my favorite! Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS pieces! Each one is so different and unique - but just as beautiful as the others! Congratulations on a beautiful, wonderful swap! =)
